Story

This small craft distillery was founded in 2012 by entrepreneur, Rick Wrightson and his son, artist, Skip Wrightson. Many agree, the craft beverage industry is not for the feint of heart and finally, after journeys in and out and around the world of craft spirits, in 2019 a micro distillery was born 8 years later in Sandwich, MA. Today, Skip is producing small batch single malts from ingredients sourced from Massachusetts and NY and aging them right here on Cape Cod, creating spirits like no other.

 

 

In the interest of creating unique distilled spirits, Cape Cod Distilling Company produces and ages spirits on the Cape, taking advantage of the coastal atmosphere and the changing seasons to shape the character of our spirits.

Craft Spirits

New Make

New-make spirit is what a distilled product, usually from malted barley, is often called before aged in oak barrels to eventually become whisky. The ‘new-make’ which we produce is tasty right off our stills and is quite suitable for drinking as ‘spirit’. So, while some of our new make is put down in casks to age until it becomes Cape Cod Whisky, the rest is transformed into other unique products such as our Cranberry Moonshine and our Single Malt Gin.
